Restaurant Feliu in Platja d’Aro
The Feliu, founded in 1969, is one of the oldest restaurants of Platja d’Aro. The restaurant is family owned and a wonderful place for families to enjoy a meal.

The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining in a classic setting. The tables are adorned with crisp white linens and flower filled vases. The wait staff is friendly and quick to refill glasses and make menu suggestions.

We sat down and appetizers just started appearing on the table. There was so much food and it was all so good, we didn’t want to stop eating! Calamari, mussels, croquettes, fried anchovies plus salmon and anchovies on a toasted baguette. Oh my!
Just when I didn’t think I could eat anymore, my entree arrived. How beautiful is that fish?! After my dinner was displayed, it was taken away to a be cut and served on a plate sans the skin and head. This American appreciates having all the dirty work done for me.
Derrick had a heavenly, local steak served with two types of dipping sauces – a peppercorn and a cheese sauce. He tried both sauces and thought they were delicious. The meat, however, was so flavorful by itself that it just didn’t need the tempting sauces.
I was so incredibly full that I didn’t need dessert. Derrick ordered me a fruit plate anyways to accompany his crema catalana. And yes, I ate all of that too. How could I pass up those fresh strawberries and kiwi?
Local white wine accompanied our meal again. Unfortunately, I was so busy eating, drinking and talking that I didn’t write down what we were served.
A fantastic feature of the restaurant is the take away food counter outside. If you’re traveling and want a quick and delicious meal to go, you can order your food outside and take it with you. There are 150 different homemade dishes, varying every day.
Maybe you want to head out to the beach to eat or relax back at your hotel room. This option came highly recommended and is a favorite for locals as well as tourist.
The owner was happy to have his pic taken with the kids – like a long lost grandparent. He even gave them all lollipops after dessert 🙂

We had another excellent gastronomy experience in Costa Brava. Next time we’re in town, we will definitely try the to-go option as well. Do you have a Restaurant Feliu Review to share?
The Platja d’Aro tourism board can offer guidance on more family-friendly restaurants to enjoy during your stay.
My family was invited as guests to experience the food, atmosphere and family-friendliness of the restaurant. All opinions are 100% my own and may differ from others.

Loved the review! The restaurant looks great for all types of travelers. I especially like the “to-go” option, much better than your typical “quick service” establishment. This post is making me hungry! Great pictures too.

Restaurant Feliu’s dishes look so delicious. My husband, 11 year old daughter and I all love eating whole fish. I also like that takeaway section, what a great option for travelers.

Looks like a great restaurant find. That whole fish looks amazing! And how classy that they displayed it like that then took it and filleted it for you.

This is awesome! I’m always looking for kid-friendly restaurants – the kind that are welcoming to kids/families and have great food, not the kind that just have kid menus with plain pasta and chicken nuggets. I’ll save this for when I take my family to Spain.
