When it comes to finding the perfect place to travel this spring, you first need to look at the best beaches for spring break. There are several popular options, but which one is right for your trip? You will want to consider the quality of the actual beaches as well as the other attractions in the area.
If you have kiddos in tow – skip these beaches during spring break and plan a trip elsewhere. These are great places to visit with kids at other times of the year. I have personally been to all 3 beaches (Cancun and Puerto Rico with kids) and found them to be great for kids when it’s a bit less crowded with party goers.
Here are a few getaways with the best beaches and local attractions for adults.
Best Beaches for Spring Break:
Cancun
The beaches of Cancun, Mexico are among the best in the world. Every year, people flock to this city from all over the world just to enjoy the beautiful ocean-front views. When you aren’t soaking up the sun, there are lots of other great things to do here. You can swim with dolphins, go snorkeling, and even visit ancient ruins. There’s also a bustling nightlife scene, so you will have plenty of chances to grab a margarita or pina colada during your trip.
Puerto Rico
Unlike some of the other best beaches for spring break, Puerto Rico travel doesn’t require a passport. You can get a great deal on flights to this beachfront city, and there is never a shortage of things to see and do. There are four famous beaches in Puerto Rico, and all of them cater to different tastes. Condado is beautiful for walks in the sand, but you may find that the tide is too strong for swimming. Carolina Beach is popular with families and those who love to swim. Its warm water is the perfect place to relax and take in the beautiful scenery of Puerto Rico.
Daytona Beach
No list of spring break getaways would be complete without a mention of Daytona Beach. It has long been one of the most popular destinations for spring travel because of its great views, warm weather, and vibrant nightlife. When you are tired of sitting on the sand, you can head to the Daytona Lagoon for go-kart racing, laser tag, and amusement park rides. You can also head over to the world-famous Daytona International Speedway to take a behind-the-scenes tour of how NASCAR races work.
The best beaches for spring break might be crowded, but there’s a good reason for it. With beautiful ocean views and plenty of other activities to do, these three locations are among the most popular and most loved spring break destinations. Be sure to book your trip early so you can get the most out of your vacation.
*The image above was taken in Puerto Rico. It’s a view from the Fort that I think shows just how amazing & inviting the water is.
